For the second year in a row, Worth Magazine, has named Communties In Schools as one of the top 100 nonprofit organizations in the United States. CIS was honored, along with twelve other nonprofits, specifically in the categories of education and human service.  This distinction was based upon the input of hundreds of philanthropy experts, extensive research on nonprofit programs, and comparisons of which nonprofits are making the largest and most intelligent decisions with their public donations.  Twelve million children exist in poverty in the US alone, and Communities In Schools nationwide positively impacts over 2 million students.  For this reason Worth recognizes it as one of the charities that is "doing the best, dollar for dollar"  to alleviate the problems children often face.
